The first thing I’ll tell you is whether I’m the right person for this.

I’m a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision designation (LPCC-S) in Ohio, with a private practice in Findlay. Most of what I do is clinical. Anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, identity and transition, and the things that can quietly pull someone off course before anyone around them notices.

Before private practice I spent six years at a community behavioral health center in Northwest Ohio. I moved from staff clinician to clinical supervisor, supervised an interdisciplinary team, and helped facilitate cross-system work for a SAMHSA-funded grant project to support youth and families with complex needs and multiple system involvement. What that taught me is how to recognize when someone needs more than what I’m providing, and to say so early rather than late.

The supervision designation is the highest independent clinical licensure for a counselor in Ohio. I diagnose and treat without oversight from another provider, and I supervise clinicians working toward independent licensure.

Who I Work With

Teenagers, young adults, and adults. Many of the people I see are athletes or used to be, and a lot of what brings them in is the same set of things: anxiety that will not quiet down, sleep that has gone bad, a mood shift the family noticed first, pressure that stopped being motivating a while ago, and an identity that got tangled up in performing well.

I know that culture from the inside. I played college baseball and then several seasons as a paid import in Québec’s LBMQ. I know what a long season of accumulated failure does to a person. That does not replace clinical training, but athletes tend to open up faster once they know you have been there.

How I Work

Structured and evidence-based. Sessions have a purpose and you should see real movement over time, not a standing weekly appointment that never changes. I draw primarily on acceptance and commitment therapy, along with person-centered and cognitive-behavioral approaches depending on what fits. I have also received training in eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, as well as internal family systems.

I keep a deliberately small caseload, so you get consistent attention rather than being one name on a crowded schedule.

If you need something outside what I treat, I will tell you directly and help point you toward the right specialist. Knowing what someone actually needs is part of the work.
